2nd Station: Jesus’ Agony at Gethsemani

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you. (Genuflect)
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Jesus left the city and went, as he usually did, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples went with him. When he arrived at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” Then he went off from them about the distance of a stone’s throw and knelt down and prayed. “Father,” he said, “if you will, take this cup of suffering away from me. Not my will, however, but your will be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. (Luke 22:39-43)

Our Father.., Hail Mary.., Glory Be..

Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Holy Mother, pierce me through!
In my heart, each wound renew,
Of my Savior crucified.

Oh, how sad and sore distressed
Was that Mother highly blessed,
Of the sole-begotten one.
